The Cricketer's Arms: Food and Ale House, Littleworth, Oxford. The little pub with the BIG welcome
Cricketer's Arms, Littleworth, Oxford, OX33 1TR

The little pub with the BIG welcome Nestled in the hamlet of Littleworth less than five miles from the centre of the historic city of Oxford, at the bottom of the ancient Shotover hill near the former London to Oxford turnpike, lies The Cricketer's Arms - An unspoilt free house pub: "The little pub with the BIG welcome".

Close to Oxford and the M40 and A40 transport links and on the 103/104 bus route, we are an ideal meeting place, whether you are travelling by car, bus, bicycle or by person power.

We offer great value home made food and a huge selection of local real ales, so stay a while and explore our website.

Lunch at The Cricketer's Arms At The Cricketer's Arms we're proud of what we do and great value home made food is what we do best.

Our selection of pub favourites includes Steak and Ale pie made with Hooky bitter, Chicken and Mushroom pie, Lasagne and Angie's very own Chilli (with those oh, so popular Tortillas). We have a great selection of vegetarian dishes too and cater for those with allergies, such as coeliacs.

Oh, and did we mention that our chips are proper chips - hand peeled and hand cut for that extra special specialness, and that "Yes" we are open for food on Monday lunchtimes!

Great selection of Local Real AlesWe can sum up our Real Ale selection in one word: "Local". All our Real Ale comes from within a thirty six mile radius of the pub, direct from whichever local brewery it comes from, so it's as fresh and tasty as it possibly can be. You can read more about our real ale here.

With Hook Norton Hooky bitter and Shotover Prospect our permanent session ales, another ale from the Hook Norton stable and a dedicated local ale guest pump plus a huge range of local bottled ales, there's always something to challenge your palette.

In the deepest depths of winter (February), we host The Littleworth Beer and Sausage festival, where a selection of these finest ales are available for a weekend, plus several varieties of locally made sausage.

Every Tuesday evening is our Real Ale Club, a time to talk ale and brewing and breweries past and present. We have our own loyalty scheme, brewery tours, meet the brewer nights and tasting sessions. If you love ale from the cask, come and tell us.

Free Live Acoustic MusicLive acoustic music is a passion and whatever style it is you like, chances are, at some time we will have had it.

Our regular First Friday live acoustic set is popular with those looking for a good night out giving you the sublime mix of free entertainment, quality food and ale and a little piece of heaven in the countryside. It's so popular, we now have live music on the Third Friday of the Month too.

As Summer turns to Autumn, we host the Littleworth Acoustic Music festival, combining acoustic music acts, cask ale and a sausage menu.

The recipe for the perfect weekend? We think so.

And, that's not all, we now host bandroom @ The Cricketer's every Wednesday, an Open Mic event for all whether you're into Rock, Blues or Folk, just Tune up, Turn Out, Drop in and enjoy yourself.

Traditional Pub GamesAt heart, The Cricketer's is a community local and the hub of our little hamlet, so we have plenty to keep you amused. Whether it's the traditional Oxfordshire sport of Aunt Sally, a card game such as Crib, a game of chess, a spot of dominoes or something else entirely, there are lots of games to keep you busy.

We have regular theme nights throughout the year, our own little lending library and even our own in-house newsletter and football league.

Every Thursday, we host our own tribute to the world of quizzes, the Twenty20 Brit Quiz, a fast a furious tour of the UK, which is a very popular night with those wanting to combine a great meal out with a little light cerebral activity.
